Residential Hardie Siding Project

I am starting a new Project this week. I will be removing damaged Masonite siding and the trim boards. CEG will then install a 25 year Hardie plank siding and new rough cedar trims. The home-owners have chosen a cedar finished plank that will add a beautiful new look to their home.

The existing Masonite siding is not in terrible condition but will be totally replaced to add additional resale value to the home. The Hardie plank being installed comes with a twenty-five year manufacturers' warranty but lasts longer when properly installed. Once the painting is complete the finished exterior will have a cedar siding appearance with beautiful wood trims. The paint will hold for at least ten years because the Hardie plank is treated with a pre-finished primer that binds the paint to the siding. Another plus for Hardie plank is that it is rot resistant, unlike Masonite and OSB siding, even when left sitting in water.

As this project progresses I will post pictures of the home. I look forward to showing how the project goes and the beauty of the finished product. I welcome any questions or coments for those who might be interested in this type of product for their home.

This week I will be demonstrating how to do a simple drywall repair. A full list of materials needed and where to purchase them will be listed. Photos and detailed directions will be given and I will answer any questions in following blogs. I look forward to your input and interaction.

News Flash - CEG LLC has begun its debut as a blog presence. The Company has been in existance since 1994 and has been serving Tulsa and the surrounding area as a remodel and siding contractor. As the blog grows the Company will be offering info and services here and at its Facebook page as well as the CEG LLC website. We are proud to be entering a new phase of growth in the Tulsa area. We owe our success to those customers we have served and the ones we will soon be serving.
